The Dr. Sekandi Joseph (PhD) is a scholar in range science and agroecology; he has published over 30 papers, book chapters, and reports on the subject. His specialist knowledge is widely recognized internationally. He has delivered talks on agroecology, agricultural extension, and range management at several forums. He has also provided consultancy services on the subject to a range of organizations, including the Regional University Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), the Alliance for Food Sovereignty (AFSA), Participatory Ecological Land Use Management (PELUM) Uganda, and Networking for a Greener Africa. Following this appointment at Kabale University as a senior Lecturer in Agricultural extension, in the Department of Crop Science and Production, where he held the post of HOD for two years. Here, he contributed to curriculum development and supported the review of grant proposals from staff and students. He has seven years of editorial experience before this appointment and puts a lot of emphasis on ethics in all his doings.

Dr. Sarah Nakato (PhD) is lecturer of mathematics and the Head of the Department Kabale University, Uganda. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics at Graz University of Technology in Austria and later worked there as a postdoctoral researcher for two years, deepening her expertise in commutative algebra, ring theory, and factorization theory. Before her doctorate, she obtained a Bachelor of Science (with Education) from Kyambogo University and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Makerere University. She has collaborated with international scholars, connecting African mathematics with global research communities. She is a co-founder and current convenor of African Women in Algebra, an association that brings together African women working in algebra and its applications. She has published multiple papers in Q1-ranked international journals and serves as a peer reviewer for respected mathematics journals.

Dr. Ivan Arinaitwe Kabiita (PhD) is an accomplished Plant breeder with more expertise in wheat and Banana Breeding. He attained his PhD in Genetics and Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, a Master's in Plant breeding and Systems, and a Bachelor of Science in Botany/Zoology, both from Makerere University, Uganda. With over 10 years’ experience conducting market-responsive and demand-driven research, most of the time, with the National Agricultural Research Organisation (NARO) of Uganda. He has, over time, developed expertise to work with diverse national and international teams to design, execute, manage, and evaluate the performance of a vibrant breeding pipeline. He specializes in the field of plant breeding, genetics, seed science and seed systems, plant molecular biology, and plant tissue culture. He has cordially worked with a multi-partner, wide breeding network, including CGIAR centres, NARES of East, Central, and Western Africa, the private sector and other Institutions of global reach and repute. Growing from a junior to the lead banana breeder at NARO, Ivan was at the centre of a establishing and maintaining to maturity, a successful, vibrant banana breeding program, competently driving all stages of planning and management of breeding processes from crossing through all stages of laboratory – tissue culture and molecular, to multi-locational field evaluation and eventual official release of superior banana varieties for increased genetic gains on farm and rapid adoption by farmers in East and Central Africa (ECA) countries. He has published several academic papers in high-impact journals.
